At The SPB Global Corporation we continue to improve and achieve new milestones. We were recently assessed by the Ecovadis platform, a provider of sustainability ratings for the world’s most prestigious companies, and scored 71/100 rating, for which we have been awarded the GOLD MEDAL in recognition of our sustainability achievements.
The EcoVadis Rating covers a wide range of non-financial management systems including different categories such as environmental impacts, labour practices and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. To date, EcoVadis has assessed more than 75,000 business partners worldwide.
Some of SPB’s environmental strengths highlighted in the report include the implementation of environmental policies on air pollution, water, materials and waste, and consumer health and safety among others, as well as adherence to the AISE Charter for Sustainable Cleaning, the Responsible Care Global Declaration and the UN Global Compact.
In terms of labour practices and human rights, Ecovadis highlighted the adherence to a labour practices and human rights policy on diversity, equity and inclusion, the adherence to a labour and human rights policy on employee health and safety, as well as the quarterly completion of satisfaction surveys among our entire team.
In the area of ethics, Ecovadis has distinguished all the policies that SPB has in place such as fraud, conflicts of interest or the comprehensive policy on business ethics issues. He also positively highlighted the implementation of a series of training courses and internal procedures that facilitate the reporting of this type of offences.
Finally, it also highlighted some of SPB’s strengths in the field of sustainable procurement: the approval of a policy on the purchase of palm oil and/or palm products from sustainable sources or the regular assessment of suppliers on their environmental or social practices.
To have our commitment to sustainability in all its facets recognised with this type of award is a great satisfaction, and at the same time a motivation to continue working and making progress in such important areas as those evaluated by EcoVadis.
